While eating carbohydrate food such as porridge, noodle, rice, sweet potato, and grain can boost energy, some foods high on the Glycemic Index (GI) will have great effect on the body’s sugar levels by increasing it rapidly, as said by Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners.
Macaroni, however, is one of low GI foods (other examples are multi-grain bread, brown rice, spaghetti, etc) that will release glucose gradually into the bloodstream and let the body to sustain energy levels for longer periods of time.
Translation? We will feel less inclined to eat. No wonder low GI food is particularly helpful for those who want to control/lose weight.
