Ingredients:

  • 1 black-bone chicken (around 1 kilogram)
  • 10 grams ginseng
  • 5 grams green onion (cut into one-inch strips)
  • 5 grams ginger (sliced)
  • 5 grams salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon cooking wine

Method:

  • Wash and paunch black-bone chicken.
  • Cut ginseng into thin slices.
  • Put chicken (breast side up) in a stew pot. Place sliced ginseng on top of chicken.
  • Add boiling water (with enough to cover the chicken), then simmer over low heat for 2 hours.
  • Add green onion strips, sliced gingers, salt, and cooking wine and cook for a brief moment.  Then serve hot.

  • Nourish lungs and kidneys
  • Inhibit cough and gasp
  • Increase energy and mitigate fatigue
