Ingredients:

  • 25 grams Oolong (Wu-long) tea leaves
  • 500 grams beef
  • 250 grams white radish (daikon)
  • 1 clump green onion
  • Some ginger shreds, salt, and soy sauce

Method:

  1. Brew Oolong tea with 800 milliliter boiling water. Then set aside for later use.
  2. Rinse and pat dry beef. Then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Rinse and peel white radish. Then cut into slices.
  4. Rinse green onion and discard roots. Then cut into 2-inch strips.
  5. Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Add cubed beef and sauté until brown on all sides.
  6. Add sliced white radishes, green onion strips, ginger shreds, salt, and soy sauce. Sauté 1 minute.
  7. Add Oolong tea and stir to combine. Bring mixture to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, then cover and simmer until beef and radish are very tender.
  8. Transfer stew to serving bowl and serve hot.
