Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh carp (about 500 grams)
  • 200 grams azuki beans
  • 1 clump green onion (chop into 2-inch pieces)
  • 5 grams ginger (sliced)
  • 2 liters water
  • Some salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash azuki beans and let them steep in cool water for 2 hours.
  2. Wash carp, then paunch and scale it.
  3. Put drained azuki beans, carp, chopped green onions, and sliced gingers in a pot with 2 liters water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat until azuki beans are soft (add more water if necessary).
  5. Add salt to taste, then serve hot.
