Some people do believe that if they have a fat belly, they should drink very very cold drinks as often as possible so their body will burn calories heating the fluid to their body temperature.
Isn’t it too good to be true? Loosing fat no longer requires hard works, aids, will power….? Unfortunately, it not only is a fallacy and won’t work, but also does our body more harm than good.
In fact, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), cold drink is neither good for the body nor effective in loosing fat. First, if you drink cold drink after a meal (especially a big one), the cold fluid will solidify anything fatty in your stomach, making the fat even harder to pass.
Second, if you are a female, cold drink is especially not for you. Since female body will protect uterus from being cold all the time, so when the stomach is cold internally, the body will accumulate more fat near the stomach to keep it warm. In other words, even a thin girl could have a big tummy if she often consumes cold drinks.
